Brace yourselves guys, because whichever blog or website you are going to visit for the next few days, there is going to be news or information on the Mobile World Congress 2013 event. The event held at Barcelona, marked the unveiling of some of the most revolutionary gadgets of our times and the announcements of a few. Though the industry giants like Samsung, Nokia and the likes seemed dominating at the event, it also witnessed the unveiling of two massive devices from Asus in stealth. Asus Padfone Infinity:
This device arrives with an aim to bridge the differences between a tablet and a phone. This is an updated version of the previously existing Asus Padfone 2 with beefed up specifications and features. The device now sports a massive 5 inch screen at 1080p display and when docked, offers a resolution of up to 19200X1200p. The hybrid has also been designed to provide a sharper display and that is why it packs in the pixels at a density of 441ppi. Under the hood, the specifications include the presence of a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor at 1.7GHz processor, 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 graphical unit. It also sports two cameras with a 13MP lens behind and a 2MP camera in the front. The dock contains a 13MP camera as well, but has a lower 1MP camera in the front. Apart from this, the dock sports a micro USB port, an eCompass and an ambient light sensor. The battery has been given a significant boost as well.
From the outlook, the device looks just like a Google Nexus 7. The device has a stunning 7inch diagonal screen that supports a resolution of up to 1280X800 pixels, built on an IPS display. It runs on a 1.2GHz dual core Atom processor, a GB of RAM and powered by the 4.1 version of Android. Photography option seems to have been given a massive slash in this one. That is why it sports a lower 3MP camera behind and a 1.2MP camera at front. The device features a 4270mAh battery with wireless & 3G option as connectivity options. It has an internal storage capacity of 16GB, which can be further expanded via memory cards.
The devices look promising with their technical details and form factors. But how the devices function actually, can be decided only when we get hands on with them.
