2012 was an amazing year for all the superhero fans. There were some epic movies in the superhero lineup that were not just great in terms of their visuals, but also in terms of their concepts and scripts. And as far as 2013 is concerned, it looks to be far more exciting one as some truly great movie titles are awaiting their release! So as a roundup, we’ve listed the 3 most anticipated superhero movies which will hit the screens in 2013.
The Man of Steel:
The Man of Steel comes from the director of 300 and Watchmen – Zack Snyder. Produced by Christopher Nolan, the movie will revolve around the life and times of Kal-El, the last son of Krypton. The story depicts the life of the alien infant, who accidentally lands into planet Earth, while trying to escape from his dooming planet, Krypton. Named as Clark Kent on earth, the movie will show how the boy realizes the presence of unusual powers within himself, and adapts to ultimately rise as the Man of Steel – Superman. Expected for a summer 2013 release, the movie has Henry Cavill as the Superman.
Iron Man 3:
Produced by Marvel Studios, the upcoming superhero flick Iron Man 3 will be directed not by Jon Favreu, but by Shane Black of the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang fame. Robert Downing Jr. will as usual don the role of Iron Man, trying to cast a spell with his wit and sense of humor. The movie will supposedly feature the Mandarin as the superhero’s counterpart and will simultaneously revolve around a concept, sparked by Captain America in the movie, Avengers. Remember him asking the Iron Man what he actually was beneath the armored suit? Yeah, the very concept may form the actual storyline of the third installment of the franchise. Scheduled for a summer 2013 release!
Thor – The Dark World:
The episodes of Thor movie formed the basis of Avengers, and what appears from the resources is that the Avengers will this time, form the basis of Thor – The Dark World. Produced by Marvel Studios, the story will supposedly pick up from the instances of Avengers, where Thor is forced to encounter a mysterious evil force, rumored to be older than the universe. The enemy identified as Malekith, will battle this time against Thor who reunites with Jane Foster to restore peace and save the nine realms from annihilation. Directed by Alan Taylor, the movie is expected to hit by the end of 2013.
